This weekend the NTT IndyCar Series heads to the Mid-Ohio Sportscar Course for the Honda Indy 200 presented by HPD Ridgeline, round 10 of the 2021 NTT IndyCar Series where Firestone Racing will provide the same Primary and Alternate tire construction and compound that was used here in 2020 for the doubleheader.

Firestone is supplying the teams with more than 1,400 race tires this weekend with each entry receiving the following allocation:

  • 6 sets of the Black Primary tire
  • 4 sets of the Red Alternate tire
  • 5 sets of the Grey Rain tire

Speaking about the race this weekend, Cory Williams, Lead Program Engineer with Bridgestone Americas Motorsports said:

Mid-Ohio is a special race for the Firestone Racing team because it’s only 75 miles from our Bridgestone campus in Akron, Ohio – where all Firestone Firehawk race tires are designed and built. It’s the one race on the schedule where our tire builders, engineers and technicians get to celebrate the hard work they put in all season. We get the chance to have our families out to the race and show off our work on the race tires up close. This year the primary and alternate tire have the same compound and construction as the 2020 Mid-Ohio tires.
