Dale Coyne Racing’s Verizon IndyCar Series rookie Pietro Fittipaldi has been ruled out of competing in the 102nd running of the Indianapolis 500 presented by PennGrade Motor Oil later this month after the Brazilian broke both his legs in a crash during qualifying for the Six Hours on Friday.

The Brazilian was due to drive the No.19 PaySafe Honda at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway and was set to complete Rookie Orientation next week.

Dale Coyne Racing were set to run four cars in the 102nd running of the Indianapolis 500 presented by PennGrade Motor Oil with Pippa Mann and Conor Daly joining Sebastien Bourdais and Pietro Fittipaldi at the Greatest Spectacle in Racing.

Dale Coyne Racing have yet to release a statement regarding the accident.
