Dale Coyne Racing’s Pietro Fittipaldi says he hopes he can get back in a go-kart next week as his recovery continues following his accident at the Spa Francorchamps circuit. The Brazilian said that he is going to be back in the No.19 car for the race in Mid-Ohio and that he will run the final five races of the season.
Fittipaldi who was speaking at a media conference at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway said that he has had a great welcome back to Speedway having returned to Indianapolis last Friday.
Fittipaldi thanked the IndyCar medical team and he said that if you love the sport the mentality is always when can I get back in the car.
Fittipaldi thanked his family for their support during his recover and revealed that he is staying at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway so that he can be close to the Verizon IndyCar Series medical team as Dr Terry Tremmall who is overseeing his recovery is at the track every day.
Fittipaldi who is already putting weight on his left leg plans to be back in a go-kart next week and has been fully involved with Dale Coyne Racing’s preparation for the 102nd running of the Indianapolis 500 presented by PennGrade Motor Oil.
