The NTT IndyCar Series heads to Road America this weekend for the REV Group Grand Prix where no fewer than five rookie drivers will be on track at a circuit that is tricky for veterans. Dale Coyne Racing with Rick Ware Racing will have two drivers with Romain Grosjean driving the No.51 Nurtec OTD Honda and Cody Ware in the No.52 Nurtec OTD Honda who will make his race debut this weekend.
Chip Ganassi Racing’s Jimmie Johnson in the No.48 Carvana Honda will also be in action. Scott McLaughlin in the No.3 PPG Team Penske Chevrolet will also make his Road America debut this weekend.
Over at Arrow McLaren SP, former Formula One driver and Detroit IMSA race winner for Chip Ganassi Racing, Kevin Magnussen will make his NTT IndyCar race debut driving the No.7 Vuse Arrow McLaren SP Chevrolet. Speaking to the media during a conference call on Wednesday, six-time NTT IndyCar Series champion Scott Dixon said he feels that Magnussen will do a great job as he knows the Dane had hoped to join the NTT IndyCar Series in 2021 before joining Chip Ganassi Racing in the IMSA WeatherTech Sportscar Championship.
Kevin Magnussen and Romain Grosjean come to IndyCar from Formula One, Scott McLaughlin comes to the sport from the Australian Supercar Championship while Jimmie Johnson and Cody Ware came to the NTT IndyCar Series from the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series.
