NHRA star Courtney Force has named as the honorary pace car driver for this weekend’s NASCAR season opening Advanced Auto Parts Clash At Daytona where old drivers and pole sitters compete.
Force, the most successful female NHRA driver beat her dad, John Force with whom she races for in the NHRA funny car series over the weekend.
Force is also married to Verizon IndyCar Series driver Graham Rahal who drives for Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing. Speaking about her appointment to the role of honorary pace car driver, Force commented by saying:
I’m so thrilled to be the honorary pace car driver for the Advance Auto Parts Clash. “I’m extremely nervous but honored at the same time to be driving that Chevy pace car before the veterans and young up-and-comers take on the track. Being a girl that races the NHRA in a straight line for a living at over 330 mph, I hope I can keep the pace in front of the pack and keep turning left.
