Ford Performance Director Dave Pericak says the company are focused on their programmes in the World Rally Championship, it’s GT sport car programme and in rallycross and will not develop and engine for the Verizon IndyCar Series due there being no relevance to their road car development.

Ford Performance are working closely with the M-Sports team in the World Rally Championship where last weekend the team won the opening rally of the WRC season with reigning champion Sebastien Ogier taking M-Sports first victory since 2012.

Pericak says that the company have no plans to return to the Verizon IndyCar Series and that is not on their radar amid speculation that the series are looking for more engine suppliers to join Honda and Chevrolet.

Pericak said that if there is not a direct impact on the company’s road cars than they do not see the benefit of investing money and time into such projects.
