The Ford Motor Company have no plans whatsoever to return to Formula One in the future due to costs involved in the sport and the fact that it is not relevant to road car development.
Ford, who last competed in Formula One with Jordan, Minardi and Jaguar Racing in 2004 are currently involved the World Endurance Championship with Chip Ganassi Racing with the Ford GT.
Ford Performance are also involved in rallycross and the World Rally Championship as a partner to the Cumbria based M-Sports WRC Team.
Last week, the head of Ford Performance Dave Pericak stated that the company would not be returning to the Verizon IndyCar Series and he has now shut the door on Formula One. The company are focusing their efforts elsewhere.
Ford’s current approach certainly appear to be paying off as they they took class victory with Chip Ganassi Racing in the Rolex 24 Hours at Daytona Raceway last weekend while last month, Sebastien Ogier took victory in the Ford Fiesta EccoBoost WRC for M-Sports.
