John F. Casey the former Chief Financial Officer of the the ill-fated Boston Grand Prix IndyCar Series race pled guilty to over 30 fraud charges relating to the event which never took place. Casey appeared in a federal court on Thursday where he entered his guilty pleas.

The NTT IndyCar Series had been due to head to Boston On September 4, 2016 however, the event never happened. Casey also spent $676,000 in pandemic relief payments of personal items including tuition and and a diamond ring. Casey is due to be sentenced in February.
