Williams Martini Racing’s Felipe Massa has said that driving the Jaguar Formula E car earlier this week was:
It was great to experience a Formula E car as it’s something completely different to anything I’ve driven.
The Brazilian who has come out of retirement for the 2017 Formula One season to once again drive for Williams in place of Valtteri Bottas who has in turn replaced world champion Nico Rosberg at reigning world champions Mercedes.
Massa said that the different braking system, the tyres, down-force and the power of the car meant the Brazilian had to adapt his driving style for the test.
The test was made possible due to the fact that Williams Martini Racing’s sister company Williams Advanced Engineering are a technical partner to the Jaguar Racing Formula E Team.
Massa now switches his focus back to Formula One as winter testing gets underway in just over three weeks time. The opening race of the new era of Formula One, the Australian Grand Prix gets underway in 50 days time. Freight has already begun arriving at the Albert Park circuit.
