Formula One CEO Chase Carey says that the sport could extend the calendar to 25 races in the future.
In 2021 Formula One will reduce the length of race weekend’s from four to three days with Thursday activity taking place on Friday morning.
Carey said that he would to Formula One expand in the US by adding at least one race stateside. The sport attempted to race in New Jersey but the race didn’t happen.
Carey also said that Formula One would like to expand in Asia and he would also someday like to a race held in Africa.
When it comes to team personnel, Carey said that the sport is working on ways to ensure that team personnel travelling to races and testing don’t experience burnout or fatigue, for example winter testing ahead of 2020 will be cut from eight to six days.
Formula One will have it’s longest season ever in 2020 with 22 races on the calendar following the addition of Hanoi in Thailand and Zandvoort in the Netherlands.
