Meyer Shank Racing announced today Friday ahead of the Harvest Grand Prix race one at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway road course that Liberty Media, the owners of Formula One Group have made a minority investment equity in the Ohio based outfit.

The investment will go towards the expansion of Meyer Shank Racing’s NTT IndyCar Series programme as well as the growth of the organisation’s recently announced Acura DPi IMSA WeatherTech Championship programme.

The announcement comes in the same week that the organisation broke ground on their new 43,000sq ft race shop in Ohio.

Speaking following the announcement, team co owner Mike Shank said:

We have worked to build our IMSA and IndyCar racing programs step by step and this is another big progression for our organization to have Liberty Media make an equity investment in MSR. “Everything that we do is built on the partnerships that we’ve developed, and this program is no different. The investment by Liberty Media will enable us to continue to build and develop our programs.”

Jack Harvey in the No.60 AutoNation Sirius XM Honda starts today’s Harvest Grand Prix at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway road course from sixth placr.
