The inaugural NTT IndyCar Series iRacing Challenge continued on Saturday with round four, the Firestone 175 at Twin Rong Motegi. The race was a closely fought battle between Team Penske’s Simon Pagenaud in the No.22 DXC Technology Chevrolet, Chip Ganassi Racing’s Scott Dixon in the No.9 PNC Bank Honda and Will Power in the No.12 Verizon Team Penske Chevrolet.

In the end it was defending Indianapolis 500 winner Simon Pagenaud who took his second victory in a row and winning last time out at Michigan International Speedway last weekend.

The victory was Chevrolet’s fourth in a row. Dreyer and Reinbold Racing’s Sage Karam in the No.24 Wix Filters Chevrolet dominated the opening race at Watkins Glwn International when the he won the American Red Cross IndyCar Grand Prix of Watkins Glen.

In round 2, the Honda Indy Grand Prix of Alabama at Barber Motorsports Park it was Team Penske’s IndyCar Series newcomer Scott McLaughlin’s turn to race to victory lane in the No.2 Shell V Power Chevrolet. McLaughlin is no stranger to sim Racing with over ten years experience.

Last weekend in the Chevrolet 275 at Michigan International Speedway it was Team Penske’s Simon Pagenaud in the No.22 DXC Technology Chevrolet who took victory after avoiding carnage on the opening lap to take his maiden win in the NTT IndyCar Series iRacing Challenge.

On Saturday, the NTT IndyCar Series iRacing Challenge returned to Twin Ring Motegi for the first time since 2011 for round four, the Firestone 175.

Arrow McLaren SP’s Robert Wickens in the No.6 Lucas Oil Arrow McLaren SP Chevrolet took pole position for the event however in the race it was Team Penske and Chip Ganassi Racing who fought it out for the win with Simon Pagenaud in the No.22 DXC Technology Chevrolet, Scott Dixon in the No.9 PNC Bank Honda for Chip Ganassi Racing and Team Penske’s Will Power in the No.12 Verizon Chevrolet battling it out for victory.

In the end it was Simon Pagenaud who took his second win in succession coming home 0.3429s ahead of Scott Dixon who in only his third NTT IndyCar Series iRacing Challenge event finished on the the virtual podium for the first time.

Honda Performance Development will hoping that they can take victory with one of their teams next weekend as the NTT IndyCar Series iRacing Challenge heads to the Circuit of the Americas in Austin Texas for the penultimate round of the season on April 25.
