The Verizon IndyCar Series have been racking up the miles in recent weeks. the teams were at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway for the month of May and no sooner had the Speedway closed on May 27, then the big team haulers hit the road for Detroit for the double header.
From Detroit the teams head to Texas Motor Speedway for this weekend’s DXC Technology 600 which takes place on Saturday night before they get a break of two weeks before they head to the Kohler Grand Prix.
The drivers have also been busy between races particularly Indianapolis 500 winner Will Power who went from Indianapolis last Monday night straight to New York for the Champion’s media tour before heading to Motor City for the Chevrolet Dual in Detroit presented by Lear.
Scott Dixon said on Saturday after winning the opening race of the Detroit Grand Prix weekend that he wished that his wife, Emma and kids Poppy and Tilly were there to celebrate the win but that his mum is in town from New Zealand so they were all back home in Indianapolis.
Dixon said however that he would be able to spend time with his family between Detroit and Texas as they are heading to Disney Land. When asked by RTV6’s Dave Furst, if he has fast track pass, Dixon said no.
