Alex Palou in the No.10 DHL Chip Ganassi Racing Honda takes a big leap in his bid to claim his third championship in a row after claiming his second consecutive race win and third at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway road course. Palou has now won four out of the opening five races of the season after taking the Sonsio Grand Prix of Indianapolis lead on the IMS road course and heads to the Indianapolis 500 in two weeks with a 97-point lead in the championship.
Pato O’Ward in the No.5 Arrow McLaren Chevrolet came home in second place while Will Power rounded out the podium for Team Penske just ahead of his teammate Scott McLaughlin.
Chip Ganassi Racing’s Scott Dixon, in the No.9 PNC Bank Honda, had a great race. He came from 16th on the grid to finish in fifth place, just ahead of Graham Rahal, who led the race for RLL but was left disappointed, coming home in sixth place. Marcus Armstrong had an excellent race for Meyer Shank Racing, coming home in seventh place ahead of Kyle Kirkwood of Andretti Global.
Rinus VeeKay had another great race for Dale Coyne Racing. He came through the field to finish the race in ninth place, just ahead of Felix Rosenqvist, who rounded out the top ten. Louis Foster will be disappointed with his day after he ended the race in 11th place despite a great qualifying session.
Josef Newgarden came home in 12th place for Team Penske, just ahead of Nolan Siegel and Alexander Rossi. Conor Daly had a solid race for Juncos Hollinger Racing as he ended the race in 15th place.
Christian Lundgaard had a tough day for Arrow McLaren. He ended the race in 16th place, just ahead of Devlin DeFrancesco, who was unable to take advantage of his great qualifying session. Robert Schwartzman had a great race for PREMA, coming home in 18th place, just ahead of Christian Rasmussen and Santino Ferrucci. Sting Ray Robb was 21st, just ahead of Callum Ilott, while David Malukas brought out the first caution flag in 408 laps.
Malukas failed to finish the race, as did Jacob Abel and Colton Herta, while Marcus Ericsson and Kyffin Simpson also retired. Up next for the NTT INDYCAR SERIES is practice for the 109th running of the Indianapolis 500 presented by Gainbridge, which gets underway on Tuesday.
