AJ Foyt Racing have confirmed that long time Verizon IndyCar Series engineer Andy Brown has joined the team for the 101st running of the Indianapolis 500 presented by PennGrade Motor Oil.
Brown will act as race engineer to Zach Veach in the No.40 Indy Women In Tech Chevrolet.
Speaking about his appointment, Brown commented by saying:
I’m honored and excited to be working with A.J. Foyt, a true legend of the Indy 500. I want to give Zach a springboard towards his future success.
AJ Foyt Racing team president Larry Foyt commented by saying:
The addition of Andy to our engineering department, even if only for a month, is a great fit for our team. Andy has worked with top teams in the past and he has been integral to their success. His close friendship with our Technical Director Will Phillips made this deal possible and we are thrilled.
AJ Foyt Racing have also confirmed the return of engineer Andy O’Gara to the Verizon IndyCar Series paddock as he will be crew chief and race strategist for Foyt’s Indy 500 effort.
Speaking about O’Gara’s return, Larry Foyt commented by saying:
Andy did a great job for us last year, so we were glad to have him back again with us this year. “He stays pretty busy with Speedway Indoor Karting (owned by he and wife Sarah Fisher), but he was able to carve out some time for us.
Foyt have a three car entry for the 101 101st running of the Indianapolis 500 presented by PennGrade Motor Oil with Zach Veach joining series regulars Conor Daly and Carlos Munoz for the race.
