Verizon IndyCar Series legend and team owner AJ Foyt will return to LeMans later this month as a guest of Ford Performance.
Foyt is returning to circuit to celebrate the 50th anniversary of him winning the LeMans 24 Hours with Dan Gurney as rookies in 1957. Foyt and Gurney remain to this day the only American team to have won the LeMans 24 Hours.
Foyt who operates AJ Foyt Racing with his son Larry is the most successful Verizon IndyCar Series drivers having won 67 races. Speaking about returning to LeMans, Foyt said:
“I am looking forward to seeing the course again, “I know it has changed a lot over the past 50 years. I probably won’t even recognize it.”
