Three time Indianapolis 500 and four time IndyCar Series champion Dario Franchitti says that when he race in NASCAR with Chip Ganassi Racing in 2008 he felt like a giraffe on roller skates. The Scot made his NASCAR debut in 2007 after winning his first IndyCar Series title and Indy 500.
In 30 races between 2007 and 2008 Franchitti scored 2 top ten finishes before returning to the NTT IndyCar Series in 2009 with Chip Ganassi Racing an promptly went on to dominate the series from 2009 to 2011 winning three championships.
Franchitti also won two of his three Indianapolis 500’s with Chip Ganassi Racing in 2010 and again in 2012.

Franchitti retired from racing at the end of 2013 following a huge accident but remains involved with Chip Ganassi Racing in the NTT IndyCar Series as a driver coach and is also involved in the ABB Formula E world championship as a commentator.
