Three time Indianapolis 500 winner and four-time NTT INDYCAR SERIES champion Dario Franchitti says he is honored to have been chosen to be inducted into the Canadian Motorsport Hall Of Fame.

The two-time Toronto race winner will be inducted into the Hall Of Fame as part of the Canadian International Auto Show which takes place this week in Toronto.

Speaking on Instagram over the weekend, Franchitti said:

It is absolute honour being inducted into the Canadian Motorsport Hall Of Fame next week in Toronto. Since getting my first IndyCar pole position in Toronto in 1997, I have always felt a special connection with Canada and the Canadian fans. Winning a few races north of the of border was ace but the fact my best pal Greg was from there and the fun that he, @maxpapis, @tkanaan, @albertrobbie and the group had in Toronto and Vancouver certainly helped too! #CanadianMotorsportHallOfFame.

Franchitti may have retired from racing in the NTT INDYCAR SERIES he remains heavily involved in the sport working as a senior advisor and driver coach at Chip Ganassi Racing.
