America’s Formula One team, Haas F1 have officially been cleared to participate in winter testing after their first ever Grand Prix car has passed all of the mandatory FIA crash tests.
The outfit confirmed the news on their official Twitter page on Friday saying:
Winter testing gets underway at the Barcelona Circuit Du Catalunya next month. Team founder and Chairman Gene Haas revealed recently that by deferring his outfits entry in Formula One by a year that the team ended up having too much time on their hands.
The outfit are hoping that they will be in a position to score points in their very first race of at the Australian Grand Prix.
The team are extremely well prepared for their opening F1 campaign with the technical partnership with Ferrari and their experienced race drivers Romain Grosjean who joined the team over the winter from the former Lotus F1 Team (now Renault) and Esteban Gutierrez who joined the outfit from Ferrari where he was test and reserve driver having previously raced for the Sauber F1 Team.
