Leena Gade says she feels Honored to have been given the opportunity to work in the Verizon IndyCar Series with Schmidt Peterson Motorsports.

The British race engineer will make history this weekend at the Firestone Grand Prix of St Petersburg as she will call the race for James Hinchcliffe in the No.5 Arrow Electronics Honda.

Gade, a three time LeMans 24 Hours winner with Audi becomes the first ever female Verizon IndyCar Series race engineer.

The British engineer joined Schmidt Peterson Motorsports over the winter and on Friday in St Petersburg, her driver James Hinchcliffe ended the day with the second fastest time giving the team something to build on heading into the weekend.
