Chip Ganassi Racing team president Steve Lauletta has confirmed that the outfit are no longer in talks with Danica Patrick about her doing the Draytona and Indy 500 with the team this season.

Towards the end of last season, Patrick announced her retirement from Motorsport but that she intended to run both the Draytona and Indy 500.

Chip Ganassi had confirmed that initial talks with Patrick had taken place but Lauletta confirmed that no agreement could be reached and in relation to their IndyCar programme they are focused on their two cars.

The news that Ganassi are no longer speaking to Patrick means that it will be harder for her to find a drive with Andretti Autosport, Team Penske, Rahul Letterman Lanigan Racing and Schmidt Peterson Motorsports all ruling out Patrick for Indianapolis 500.
