NTT IndyCar Series team owner Chip Ganassi who witnessed his driver Scott Dixon in the No.9 PNC Bank Honda win his sixth series championship at the Firestone Grand Prix of St Petersburg on Sunday has confirmed his team will run the No.48 Honda full-time next season.
Scott Dixon will remain in the No.9 PNC Bank Honda in 2021 to go after a sevrnth championship while it is expected that Marcus Ericsson will return with Huski Chocolate to the No.8 Honda.
It is not yet clear eho will drive the No.10 NTT DATA Honda as it widely expected that Felix Rosenqvist will move to Arrow McLaren SP to replace Oliver Askew in the No.7 Arrow McLaren SP Chevrolet.
As for the No.48 Carvana Honda that will be driven by Jimmie Johnson in the road and street course events for 2021, Ganassi confirmed on Saturday that his intention is to run that car full time.
It is unclear who will drive No.10 NTT DATA Honda next season but Paddock Eye understands that Tony Kanaan could return to Ganassi for the three oval races next season.
James Hinchcliffe is also on the market however Paddock Eye understands the Canadian will return to Andretti Autosport full-time in 2021.
Helio Castroneves could be a contender for either a full-time or partial NTT IndyCar Series programme given that he has expressed an interest in returning to IndyCar in 2021 as he is a free agent at the end of the IMSA WeatherTech Sportscar Championship season.
