Chip Ganassi Racing managing director Mike Hull has refused to confirm that the team will drop to a three car entrant in the Verizon IndyCar Series for 2018.

As the on track action got underway at Mid-Ohio on Friday the rumor mill was in full swing with speculation suggesting that not only will Penske drop to three cars next season bit that Chip Ganassi could do the same.

Speaking to the IndyCar Radio network during the opening practice session for the Honda Indy 200 at Mid-Ohio, Hull did not comment on how many cars Ganassi will field next season but confirmed that they working hard to maintain what they have.

Chip Ganassi Racing currently field four full-time cars in the Verizon IndyCar Series with Scott Dixon, Max Chilton, Tony Kanaan and Charlie Kimball.
