Chip Ganassi says that he would have loved to see Kyle Larson compete for Chip Ganassi Racing in the Greatest Spectacle In Racing, the Indianapolis 500.
Ganassi fired Larson from his NASCAR team in 2020 after Larson used a racial slur during an iRacing event.
Larson was later suspended by NASCAR. Speaking to INDYCAR on FOX commentator and former driver James Hinchcliffe during Java with James, Ganassi said that the one driver he regrets not running in the Indianapolis 500 was Kyle Larson.
Larson returned to NASCAR with Hendrick Motorsports in 2021 and won the NASCAR Cup Series championship.
Ganassi confirmed to the Mayor of HinchTown that he owned Patrick Racing when Emerson Fittipaldi won the 1989 Indianapolis 500.
In relation to Larson, Ganassi said that another team best him to signing Larson for the Indianapolis 500.
