Chip Ganassi Racing who are on the verge of claiming back-to-back NTT INDYCAR SERIES championships with Alex Palou are set to scale back their involvement in the series.
Paddock Eye understands that the team will field three cars in 2025 with Scott Dixon and Alex Palou alongside an as yet to be named third driver.
Chip Ganassi Racing currently field five cars in the NTT INDYCAR SERIES and it is understood that the two crews from INDYCAR will work with the INDY NXT team.
The team also looks set to field two cars in the INDY NXT presented by Firestone championship, INDYCAR’s open-wheel ladder program.
It is understood that under INDYCAR’s new charter system, each team can have up to three cars eligible for entry points.
It has been suggested that Kyffin Simpson will take over driving the No.8 Honda from Linus Lundqvist who was crowned NTT INDYCAR SERIES Rookie Of The Year in Milwaukee at the weekend.
