Dale Coyne Racing with Rick Ware Racing’s Romain Grosjean who will make his NTT IndyCar Series debut next month when the 2021 season gets underway at Barber Motorsports Park says that he is confident about starting the next phase of his career.
Speaking to Paddock Eye during IndyCar Media Day on Thursday, Grosjean said that it is beneficial for him to Pietro Fittipaldi sharing the car with him this season after it was announced on Thursday that the Brazilian will partner Grosjean for the oval races in the No.51 Honda.
Grosjean and Fittipaldi worked together at the Haas F1 Team where Fittipaldi was test and reserve driver and filled in for the Frenchman in the final two races of the Formula One season in 2020 following Grosjean’s accident at the Sakhir circuit.
Grosjean also said that working with his new engineer, Olivier Boisson will help him because although at the track the pair will speak English, away from racing they will be able to converse in French so if there is something that Romain might be struggling with he says he will be able to tell Olivier and they will be able to work on anything that comes up.
Grosjean also said that although he is rookie in IndyCar, he has 20 plus years of racing in other categories and he hopes that he will be able to put to good use some of the skillset that he learnt previously in IndyCar.
