Dale Coyne Racing with RWR’s Romain Grosjean says he is focused on his new career in the NTT IndyCar Series and is not thinking about Formula One as he prepares to make his test debut in the No.51 Honda at Barber Motorsports Park on February 22nd.
The Frenchman joins Ed Jones who was confirmed in the No.18 Team SealMaster Honda last week. Grosjean has confirmed that he would like to possibly take up Mercedes AMG PETRONAS F1 Team Principal Toto Wolff’s offer of a test in the Mercedes F1 car but that he will wait to call the Austrian.
Grosjean revealed on Wednesday that he will commute from Europe for the time being in order to spend time with his family as he confirmed he doesn’t want to take his kids out of school until the time comes where he has decided to remain in IndyCar.
Team owner Dale Coyne confirmed that the deal with Grosjean is currently just for the upcoming 2021 season which gets underway on April 18 with the IndyCar Grand Prix a Barber Motorsports Park however he has not ruled out the possibility of running the Frenchman in the 106th Indianapolis 500 presented by Gainbridge in 2022.
Grosjean who will compete on road and street course events this season however the Frenchman did confirm that he may be tempted to compete at World Wide Technology Raceway but that is yet to be decided.
