The Haas F1 Team’s Romain Grosjean says he would be interested in competing in the Indianapolis 500 one day.
Speaking at the drivers press conference on Thursday ahead of Sunday’s United States Grand Prix at the Circuit of the Americas in Austin Texas, the Frenchman said that he loves ovals and would be interested in competing in the world’s most famous motor race.
Grosjean’s Haas F1 Team is owned by Gene Haas who also co-owns Stewart Haas Racing in NASCAR. Tony Stewart is a former IndyCar champion and that could be a way for Grosjean to get involved in the Indianapolis 500.
It would certainly appear that Fernando Alonso’s appearance in the Indianapolis 500 last year has increased interest from his F1 rivals in competing in the event.
It would be quiet easy for Haas to team up with an IndyCar team like McLaren did with Andretti Autosport last season.
