Haas F1 Team driver Romain Grosjean has conceded that he is unlikely to get the opportunity to compete in a NASCAR Sprint Cup race in 2016 for Stewart Haas Racing due to the hectic Formula One schedule and his need to prepare properly for the event.
Grosjean has expressed a desire to race in NASCAR and Gene Haas confirmed that it is something that they are looking into.
Formula One is set for an extremely busy period over the coming months with six races in the eight weeks prior to the F1 Summer break starting this weekend with the Canadian Grand Prix.
Grosjean has confirmed that he will attend two NASCAR events later this year but as a spectator.
The Frenchman confirmed:
I’m going to two races – Kansas (October 16 and Hometead (November 20) as a spectator.
Grosjean went on to say that if the team really want him to do he would race this year but he is likely to race next season and test in the United States in January/February next year.
