Former Sauber F1 Team and Haas F1 Team driver Esteban Gutierrez says he is aiming to return to Formula One in 2019.
The Mexican who was dropped by the Haas F1 Team at the end of the 2016 season is in talks about a return to Formula One with the Williams Martini Racing team a possible destination for him alongside George Russell.
Gutierrez spent much of 2017 racing in the Verizon IndyCar Series with Dale Coyne Racing in place of the injured Sebastien Bourdais.
The Mexican who had been part of the young driver programme at Ferrari, recently joined the Mercedes AMG PETRONAS F1 Team as their simulator driver.
Gutierrez is attending this weekend’s Mexican Grand Prix so it will be interesting to see what happens for 2019.
