The Haas F1 Team will fit a stronger wing to Romain Grosjean’s VF16 chassis ahead of today’s on track action at the Barcelona Circuit Du Catalunya.
The Frenchman suffered a front wing failure during the opening day of on track action in Montmelo on Monday and while the team continue to investigate the cause of the failure team principal Guenther Steiner commented by saying:
The front wing? She broke! We had the problem, it broke, we evaluated what went wrong and we are still checking and we fixed one up for the afternoon. But we just did short runs to always keep an eye on it. We get a complete fixed wing flown in tomorrow for 8am, which will be strengthened.
Esteban Gutierrez will get behind the wheel of the new car for the first time later this morning as day 2 of winter testing gets underway.
