Haas F1 Team owner Gene Haas has revealed that Romain Grosjean asked him if the company would sponsor the Frenchman’s move to the NTT IndyCar Series with Dale Coyne Racing with Rick Ware Racing but declined the sponsorship following Grosjean’s crash in Bahrain.

Haas revealed that he was no longer willing to sponsor Grosjean after he destroyed the Formula One car and although Haas was glad that the Frenchman wasn’t killed he felt that pursuing a career in the NTT IndyCar Series following the crash was not a good idea.

Haas revealed that he did not feel comfortable investing in Grosjean’s IndyCar career particularly as he did not want to be the one to have to go to his family if something had happened to Grosjean.
