Six time world champion Lewis Hamilton dominated the 2019 Formula One season ending Abu Dhabi Grand Prix at the Yas Marina circuit.

Starting the race from pole position, Hamilton led every single lap of the 54 lap event and finished the race just ahead Aston Martin Red Bull Racing’s Max Verstappen to take his eleventh win of the season and the 88th of his career.

Hamilton is just three wins away from equalling Michael Schumacher’s record.

Scuderia Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc completed the podium however will go to the stewards after the race after the FIA confirmed the team are under investigation for under declaring their fuel load in the car ahead of the start of the race.

Mercedes AMG PETRONAS F1 Team’s Valtteri Bottas came from the back of the grid to finish the race in fourth place but with Leclerc’s investigation he could end the season with a podium.

Sebastian Vettel ended the race in fifth place just ahead of Alexander Albon’s Red Bull.

Following a great battle during the race, Sergio Perez of the SportPesa Racing Point F1 Team got past McLaren Racing’s Lando Norris for seventh place. Daniil Kvyat was ninth while Carlis Sainz rounded out the top ten for the McLaren Racing giving the Spaniard sixth in the championship.

Daniel Ricciardo ended the race in eleventh just ahead of his team mate Nico Hulkenberg who ended his time in Formula One for now in twelfth place.

Kimi Raikkonen finished the race in thirteenth place for the Alfa Romeo Racing F1 Team just ahead of the Haas F1 Team’s Kevin Magnussen and Romain Grosjean.

Antonio Giovinazzi was 16th for the Alfa Romeo Racing team just ahead of George Russell, Pierre Gasly and Robert Kubica who ended his time at the Rokit William’s Racing team with a 19th place finish.

The only retirement from the race from SportPesa Racing Point F1 Team’s Lance Stroll.

The 2020 Formula One season is just 104 days away.
