World champion Lewis Hamilton has issued a warning to Formula One saying that he will leave the sport if the schedule reaches 25 races.

The 2019 calendar features 21 races and will see the season for the first time in a generation finish in December.

It was announced this week that Vietnam will join the schedule from 2020 taking the calendar up to 22 races and with Liberty Media, the owners of Formula One hopeful of a second Grand prix stateside and the possibility of the Dutch Grand Prix returning to the calendar Hamilton has said although he loves racing he feels 25 races is too much.

Speaking in Brazil ahead of penultimate Grand Prix of the season, Hamilton said that as it is he feels like there are 25 races already and that it is a long long commitment and too long to spend away from families.
