World champion Lewis Hamilton led the way in the final practice session ahead of qualifying for tomorrow’s Abu Dhabi Grand Prix at the Yas Marina circuit, the final race of the 2018 FIA Formula One season.
Hamilton set a fastest time of 01:37.176s ending up just ahead of Ferrari’s Kimi Raikkonen.
Sebastian Vettel in the second Ferrari was third fastest just ahead of Aston Martin Red Bull Racing’s Max Verstappen. Valtteri Bottas was fifth fastest for the Mercedes AMG PETRONAS F1 Team.
Daniel Ricciardo in the second Aston Martin Red Bull Racing car was sixth fastest despite stopping on track due to a water pressure problem.
Romain Grosjean was seventh fastest just ahead of the Renault Sport F1 Team pairing of Nico Hulkenberg and Carlos Sainz. Despite spending much of the session in the garage, Racing Point Force India F1 Team’s Esteban Ocon rounded out the top ten.
Sergio Perez was eleventh just ahead of Brendan Hartley’s Toro Rosso while the Alfa Romeo Sauber F1 Team’s Charles Leclerc was 13th.
Kevin Magnussen was 14th fastest for the Haas F1 Team just ahead of Toro Rosso’s Pierre Gasly and McLaren’s Fernando Alonso. Marcus Ericsson in the second Sauber C37 was 17th.
Lance Stroll was 18th for Williams Martini Racing just ahead of McLaren’s Stoffel Vandoorne while Sergey Sirotkin rounded out the order in 20th place.
