Mercedes reigning world champion Lewis Hamilton ended this morning’s first practice session in Mexican as the fastest driver.
Hamilton set a fastest time of 01:20.914s ending the session just ahead of Ferrari’s Sebastian Vettel and Kimi Raikkonen. The Sahara Force India Formula One Team duo of Sergio ‘Checo’ Perez and Nico Hulkenberg did a fantastic job ending the session in 4th and 5th place respectively.
Perez, completing in his second home race this weekend set a fastest time of 01:21.200s. Valtteri Bottas ended the session in seventh place just ahead of Daniel Ricciardo and Felipe Massa.
Toro Rosso’s Daniil Kvyat rounded out the top ten with a fastest time of 01:22.215s with the Haas F1 Team’s Romain Grosjean ending the session just outside the top ten in 11th place. Scuderia Toro Rosso’s Carlos Sainz ended the session in 12th place just ahead of the Sauber F1 Team’s Marcus Ericsson.
Max Verstappen in the second Red Bull ended the session in 14th place with a fastest time of 01:22.877s.
Esteban Gutierrez, competing in his first home race for the Haas F1 Team ended the session in 15th place just ahead of McLaren Honda’s Fernando Alonso. Felipe Nasr was 17th for the Sauber F1 Team just ahead of McLaren’s Jenson Button.
Kevin Magnussen ended the session in 19th place just ahead of Esteban Ocon and Jolyon Palmer while Pascal Werhlein rounded out the order in 22nd place for Manor Racing.
