Mercedes Lewis Hamilton set the fastest time on the opening day of winter testing at the Barcelona Circuit Du Catalunya on Monday.

Hamilton, who too k over the W08 for the afternoon session from new team mate Valtteri Bottas completed 73 laps with a fastest time of 01:21.761s.

Ferrari’s Sebastian Vettel was second fastest completing 128 laps while Williams Martini Racing’s Felipe Massa was third fastest setting a time of 01:22.076s.

Kevin Magnussen, on his first official day driving for the Haas F1 Team was fourth fastest ending the day just ahead of Red Bull Racing’s Daniel Ricciardo who recovered from a problematic morning to finish the day in fifth place.

Valtteri Bottas ended his first official day driving for Mercedes in sixth place havong driven the W08 this morning and setting the initial pace, the Finn completed 79 laps and ended the day just ahead of Sahara Force India’s Sergio Perez.

Carlos Sainz was eighth fastest for Toro Rosso ending the day just ahead of the Renault Sport F1 Team’s Nico Hulkenberg.

Following an issue with his Honda power unit this morning, McLaren’s Fernando Alonso got back on track in the afternoon and set the tenth fastest time completing 29 laps.

Marcus Ericsson rounded out the order in 11th place for the Sauber F1 Team. Testing continues tomorrow.
