Mercedes AMG PETRONAS F1 Team’s Lewis Hamilton took his 65th career pole position and his sixth in Montreal for the Canadian Grand Prix.

Hamilton has now equaled Ayrton Senna’s tally. Hamilton starts the race just ahead of championship leader Ferrari’s Sebastian Vettel while Valtteri Bottas will start the race from third.

Ferrari’s Kimi Raikkonen starts the race from fourth place just ahead of Red Bull Racing’s Max Verstappen and Daniel Ricciardo.

Williams Martini Racing’s Felipe Massa starts the race from seventh just ahead of the Force India pairing of Sergio Perez and Esteban Ocon.

The Renault Sport F1 Team’s Nico Hulkenberg rounded out the top ten.

Daniil Kvyat starts the race from 11th place for Toro Rossi while McLaren Honda’s Fernando Alonso starts the race from 12th place just ahead of Toro Rosso’s Carlos Sainz.

Romain Grosjean who has been suffering from brake issues this weekend will start the race from 14th place for the Haas F1 Team.

Jolyon Palmer in the second Renault starts the race from 15th place just ahead of McLaren Honda’s Stoffel Vandoorne. Lance Stroll starts his first home race from 17th place for Williams Martini Racing.

The Haas F1 Team’s Kevin Magnussen starts the race from 18th place. The Sauber F1 Team’s Marcus Ericsson and Pascal Wehrlein who crashed in Q1 round out the grid in 19th and 20th respectively.
