Mercedes AMG PETRONAS F1 Team’s Lewis Hamilton has taken his 91st career pole position for Sunday’s British Grand Prix at the Silverstone circuit having set a qualifying time of 01:24.303s and in doing so set a track record.
Valtteri Bottas joins Hamilton on the front row of the grid while Aston Martin Red Bull Racing’s Max Verstappen starts the race from third.
Charles Leclerc starts the race from fourth just ahead of McLaren’s Lando Norris and Lance Stroll while Carlos Sainz is seventh in the second McLaren.
Daniel Ricciardo starts the race from eighth just ahead of his Renault team mate Esteban Ocon while Ferrari’s Sebastian Vettel rounds out the top ten.
Pierre Gasly starts the race from eleventh for Alpha Tauri just ahead of Aston Martin Red Bull Racing’s Alex Albon and the returning Nico Hulkenberg for Racing Point.
Daniil Kvyat starts the race 14th just ahead of Williams George Russell and Kevin Magnussen.
Alfa Romeo Racing ORLEN’s Antonio Giovinazzi starts the race from 17th just ahead of his team mate Kimi Raikkonen.
Romain Grosjean and Nicholas Latifi round out the grid.
