Championship leader Lewis Hamilton in the Mercedes took victory ahead of his team mate Valtteri Bottas at the Russian Grand Prix in Sochi and in doing so he is now 50 points ahead of Sebastian Vettel who finished third.

Bottas took pole on Saturday and led the race and was told to let Hamilton through to win the race. Following the race, Mercedes CEO and Team Principal Toto Wolff told Valtteri Bottas that they will discuss what happened after the race saying that it was a tough day for the Finn.

Kimi Raikkonen finished the race in fourth place just ahead of Aston Martin Red Bull Racing’s Max Verstappen and Daniel Ricciardo who came from the back of the field to finish the race in fifth and sixth place respectively.

Charles Leclerc did a great job for the Alfa Romeo Sauber F1 Team as he finished the race in seventh place just ahead of the Haas F1 Team’s Kevin Magnussen.

It was a great race for the Racing Point Force India Formula One Team as Esteban Ocon and Sergio Perez finished the race in 9th and 10th place respectively. Romain Grosjean finished the race in 11th place just ahead of Nico Hulkenberg while Marcus Ericsson finished the race in 13th place.

Fernando Alonso finished the race in 14th place for McLaren just ahead of Williams Martini Racing’s Lance Stroll and Stoffel Vandoorne.

Carlos Sainz and Sergey Sirotkin rounded out the order in 17th and 18th place respectively while both Toro Rosso drivers retired from the race. NEXT up is the Japanese Grand Prix.
