Harding Racing will expand to a two car full-time entrant in the Verizon IndyCar Series in 2019 after a strong debut season for the Main Street, Speedway, Indiana outfit.
Harding Racing confirmed to Paddock Eye on Monday evening that they will test Indy Lights driver Colton Herta on Friday in Portland as they continue to evaluate second drivers for 2019 as Gabby Chaves is contracted to the team for next season.
Conor Daly has raced for the team in the last two events in Toronto and last time out in Mid-Ohio where he was extremely competitive. It is unclear will drive the No.88 Harding Group Chevrolet for the next race, the ABC Supply 500 at Pocono Raceway on August 19th.
Harding Racing are not the only team who are considering expanding in 2019 with Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing co-owner Bobby Rahal confirming earlier this season that they would consider a third full-time entrant in 2019 under the right circumstances.
Michael Shank who has been competing in the series this season with a part time schedule with England’s Jack Harvey in the No.60 AutoNation Honda in conjunction with Schmidt Peterson Motorsports competing in six races has confirmed that his team are likely to compete in ten races in 2019.
