Harding Steinbrenner Racing announced on Thursday that they have entered into partnership with Honda Performance Development for the 2019 IndyCar Series season. The main street, Speedway Indianapolis based outfit will get their first opportunity to test the engine following the Christmas break in January.
Harding Steinbrenner Racing join Chip Ganassi Racing, Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing, Andretti Autosport, Schmidt Peterson Motorsports and Dale Coyne Racing in the Honda camp.
Team co-owner George Michael Steinbrenner confirmed that Honda’s ability to win races was the reason behind their decision to go with the manufacturer as that is why Harding Steinbrenner Racing are in business for and that is to win races.
In 2018, all of the Honda powered teams won races with Ganassi, RLL, Andretti, Schmidt and Dale Coyne Racing all winning at least one race over the course of the season.
Honda’s success in 2018 bodes well for the 2019 season and the addition of Harding Steinbrenner Racing to the Honda family will ensure that they have the best foundation possible to succeed in the IndyCar Series in 2019.
