Schmidt Peterson Motorsports with Michael Shank Racing’s Jack Harvey will be back in action at the Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach in the No.60 AutoNation/Sirius/XM Honda alongside Schmidt Peterson Motorsports regulars James Hinchcliffe and Robert Wickens.
Harvey, who is participating in a part-time Verizon IndyCar Series schedule in 2018 returns to the track at a great moment for the team as they were extremely strong last time out at the Desert Diamond West Valley Casino Phoenix Grand Prix at ISM Raceway where Robert Wickens finished on the podium in second place and James Hinchcliffe finished the event in sixth.
Harvey will be hoping that he will be able to gain some of that momentum this weekend especially as Schmidt Peterson Motorsports head to Long Beach as defending race winners following the Mayor of HinchTown’s run to victory lane in 2017.
Speaking ahead of the race, Harvey commented by saying:
It was nice to see how much pace the team had at St. Pete because we can hopefully translate that into Long Beach. I’m expecting a better performance from myself going into the race weekend. Long Beach is also a track which I’ve been quick at before, put it on pole in 2015 but unfortunately didn’t get through the first corner. Long Beach is a great event and it’s in a great city. The event has a lot of history behind it from when Formula 1 was there back in the day. I’m really looking forward to heading back there and getting back on track.
