Jack Harvey in the No.18 INVST Dale Coyne Racing Honda equaled his best result of the 2024 NTT INDYCAR SERIES season as the year came to a close at Nashville Super Speedway on Sunday. Harvey, who is unsure as to whether or not he will be back in INDYCAR in 2025 started the race from 20th place and came through the field to finish the event in 13th.
Speaking following the action, the Englishman said:
“It was pretty good overall. We started 20th and finished 13th. It was pretty crazy on strategy there today. I think a couple of times some yellows came out in a favorable time so that was great. I think our pace was OK, not awesome but pretty good to stay where we were. We just rolled the dice on strategy at the end. We were so close to making it to the finish line without running out of fuel but it just started puttering a bit down the back straight and onto the front straight. Sometimes you just have to roll the dice like that. As I told the team on the in lap, everyone at Dale Coyne Racing knows they have a driver who appreciates them and loves them. I’d love to be back to do it again but until then I just want to say thank you to everyone at DCR and everyone at INVST. And to all the teammates I had this year, it’s been my privilege.”
Katherine Legge, in contrast had a disappointing race as she ended up retiring from the event after challenging Pietro Fittipaldi and speaking following the action she said:
“I was racing with Fittipaldi, he washed up high and I was right underneath his rear wing and I washed up high and I couldn’t get the car down enough and ended up in the marbles and hit wall. It’s disappointing but in that scenario we were already struggling with the car and I couldn’t save it. I want to thank Dale for giving me the opportunity to drive for him this season. It wasn’t the ending we wanted but I’m thankful to have been back behind the wheel of an Indy car this season.”
