Verizon IndyCar Series team co owner Michael Shank has confirmed that Jack Harvey is set to stay with his team in 2019 as he intends to expand his single seater programme from six to ten races in partnership with Schmidt Peterson Motorsports.

Harvey joined James Hinchcliffe and Robert Wickens this season and was extremely strong at the 102nd running Indianapolis 500 presented by Penngrade Motor Oil in May nearly winning the race.

Michael Shank has said that the team intend to run at least ten races next season and are looking into the idea of purchasing a second car to run at the 2019 Indianapolis 500.

Shank also said that they could have gone full-time in the Verizon IndyCar Series in 2019 however he felt it was not the right time to make such a move as he is also focused on the IMSA WhetherTech championship.
