Andretti Global’s Colton Herta in the No.26 Gainbridge Honda is aiming for a strong race weekend in Barber Motorsports Park this weekend following his second place finish last time out in Long Beach.
After a podium finish in Long Beach, I’m looking forward to taking on Barber this weekend. The track itself offers a mixture of corners and requires a variety of driving styles – it’s definitely one that I enjoy. It will be great to see what the Gainbridge Honda can accomplish on our first road course of the season.”
Kyle Kirkwood who makes his third INDYCAR SERIES appearance at Barber this weekend is looking forward to the race saying:
Barber was up and down for us last season, but we feel like we have put ourselves in an ideal position to have a really good performance there this weekend. Last year, one of our cars qualified on the pole, and we have no doubt that we can do it again. We know we have the pace, so now it’s going to be all about execution. So, fingers crossed that it will be a strong result for the No. 27 and our entire team.”
Marcus Ericsson in the No.28 Delaware Life Honda is looking forward to the race this weekend saying:
Barber is a beautiful road course that has a nice flow to it. It’s a track that creates some unique challenges with all the elevation changes and flow in the corners. There has also been quite a big difference over the last few years since they resurfaced Barber Motorsports Park, and you really need to be physically strong as a driver to navigate all of the grip this road course brings. Overall, I’m looking forward to getting back to Barber with the Delaware Life crew this weekend.”
Andretti Global Chief Operating Officer Rob Edwards says:
“It’s a short turnaround this week from the Streets of Long Beach to the rolling, natural terrain road course at Barber Motorsports Park. Last year, this race was a bit of a mixed bag for us, so we’ll be looking to build on the momentum of the last two races for a stronger event this year. The 2024 spec Firestone tires are changing race strategies and there are few overtaking opportunities at Barber, so, as always, qualifying will be important.”
