NTT IndyCar Series rookie Colton Herta in the No.88 Capstone Honda for Harding Steinbrenner Racing scored his third pole position of the season as he starts the season ending Firestone Grand Prix of Monterey at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca from the front with a time of 01:10.1405s and starts just ahead of defending champion Scott Dixon in the No.9 PNC Bank Honda.
The Iceman said he has struggled this weekend and that he hasn’t been able to string it together but hopes they can challenge for the win and see what the others do tomorrow.
Alexander Rossi in the No.27 NAPA Auto Oarts Honda for Andretti Autosport was not happy with his third place in qualifying despite starting the race ahead of his main title rival Josef Newgarden. It was a great session for Arrow Schmidt Peterson Motorsports James Hinchcliffe in the No.5 Arrow Electronics Honda starts the race from fifth just ahead of Team Penske’s Simon Pagenaud.
