Harding Steinbrenner Racing team co-owner George Steinbrenner VI said that his driver Colton Herta in the No.88 Latitude Vacation Club Honda did a phenomenal job after the 18 year old took his first NTT IndyCar Series race win at the Circuit Of The Americas in Austin Texas.
Starting the race from fourth place, Herta who has been extremely impressive with Harding Steinbrenner Racing kept pace with leaders Will Power and Ryan Hunter Reay.
The NTT IndyCar Series rookie took the lead on lap 45 and never looked back.
Speaking following the race, George Steinbrenner said:
“He did a phenomenal job. “Colton hit all his marks, he did everything right, the crew did everything they needed to do to keep us out in front of (Newgarden’s) car the whole time. Everything went pretty much perfectly.
“I really can’t believe we’re sitting here. I’m shaking and it’s a dream come true.”
Steinbrenner made history by becoming the youngest race winning team owner at 22.
