Colton Herta in the No.26 Gainbridge Honda was fastest as the NTT INDYCAR SERIES took part in a hybrid test at Iowa Speedway on Thursday. Scott McLaughlin was second fastest for Team Penske, just ahead of Marcus Ericsson in the No.28 Delaware Life Andretti Global Honda. Graham Rahal was fourth fastest just ahead of Arrow McLaren’s Pato O’Ward while Chip Ganassi Racing’s Scott Dixon rounded out the top six.
It was a difficult day for Team Penske’s Josef Newgarden as the Tennessee-native made light contact with the wall while his teammate Will Power crashed. Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing’s Pietro Fittipaldi also made contact with the wall as did Juncos Hollinger Racing’s Romain Grosjean.
