Andretti Global’s Colton Herta in the No.26 Gainbridge Honda took pole for the Chevrolet Detroit Grand Prix on Saturday and starts the race just ahead of AJ Foyt Racing’s David Malukas.

Kyle Kirkwood starts the race from third with a time of 01:00.7312s just ahead of Christian Lundgaard and Alex Palou.

Rinus VeeKay continued his great season as he starts the race from sixth with a time of 1:00.7208s.

Scott McLaughlin starts seventh for Team Penske just ahead of Will Power and Marcus Armstrong and Christian Rasmussen who rounds out the top ten. Armstrong said:

It was a tough qualifying. In the end we didn’t have enough speed. I felt like my lap was really strong, but we missed a lot of lap time compared to the guys in the front. We have some work to do tomorrow, but we’ll see how it goes.”

Graham Rahal starts the race from 11th just ahead of Marcus Ericsson and Louis Foster while Felix Rosenqvist starts the race from 14th place following a time of 01:01.4149s.

Defending Detroit race winner Scott Dixon in the No.9 PNC Bank Chip Ganassi Racing Honda starts the race from 16th place just ahead of Alexander Rossi and Callum Ilott while Pato O’Ward starts the race from 19th just ahead of Kyffin Simpson and Jacob Abel.

Santino Ferrucci starts the race from 22nd place just ahead of Robert Schwartzman and Devlin DeFrancesco while Josef Newgarden starts the race from 24th just ahead of Conor Daly and Sting Ray Robb while Nolan Siegel starts the race from 27th.
